The essence is a secret under the surface, but still continues to exist, against all odds. What does it mean if all you are, is secret, forbidden, hidden, unseen, undiscovered, shady, faded, foggy, untold, illegal, unlawful, discreet, secluded, untold, concealed, private, invisible, coded and unknown? Creak, river, cave, karst water running under the ground. During a horizontal flow, air with a specific quality will transform and become advective fog. Mimikri is the form of adaptation established during evolution, where to protect it’s self, a species takes on the form and actions of their surroundings.{ After the pogroms of 1391, half of Spanish Jews converted. The main goal of the 1492 Edict of Expulsion was to put pressure on the Marrano groups, not to return to Judaism. In Belmonte, Portugal the last remaining crypto-Jewish community returned to Judaism in the 1970’s, they built a synagogue in 1996. In 2014 the Spanish government registered a new law: all descendants of Sephardi Jews who had to leave Spain during these hundreds of years can apply for dual citizenship.
